St. Mary’s Lake

View of St. Mary’s Lake in Glacier National Park.  Named by a Catholic priest, it is a long narrow lake at some of Glacier’s highest peaks. The tiny bit of trees in the middle of the lake is named Wild Goose Island.

Mt. Vaught, Glacier

Mt. Vaught is part of the four mountains rising above McDonald Creek known as the Livingston Range.  These mountains are really tough to get a view of.  There are not any pull offs or designated areas to view them.  Just have to do the sketchy driver thing and turn around while you are driving, as you are turning a curve, scaring the hell out of everyone in the car with you.  Pretty much what we did.. But since it was so early in the park, the traffic was low so we just stopped in the middle of the road and got out to take in the view.  It was really impressive!  Although super dangerous, I am glad that we got to see it from this angle.  I posted a shot below as well a shot Jessica took of me as I was racing against the clock to get the photo.

Cleaning Up

I came across this photo taken by Callie Shell this afternoon. She is an amazing photo journalist,and pretty much has been exclusively covering Mr. Obama for the past few years.  I just had to share this photo with you.  I think it really shows the kind of a guy Barack Obama is.
